A Day in the Life: Documentary Family Photography with the Price Family
There’s something magical about the chaos of everyday life. It’s not the polished moments we often try to curate but the beautiful imperfections, the laughter, the tears, and the love that define a family. That’s exactly what I captured during my day with the Price family in Tipperary.
This lively family of five—Dad, Mom, their 7-year-old son, and 3-year-old twin daughters—opened their doors to me for a “Day in the Life” session. The goal? To freeze their ordinary moments in time, because these small, seemingly mundane days are the ones they’ll want to hold onto forever. I especially loved how the twins proudly wore their swimsuits over their tights (because, why not?).
Why These Days Matter
It was a day like any other for the Price family. A day filled with joy, frustration, silliness, and love. But that’s exactly why it was worth documenting. These everyday moments are fleeting. The Lego sessions, the messy meals, the tantrums on the swings—one day, they’ll just be memories.
As a documentary family photographer, my goal is to capture not just what life looks like but what it feels like. The Price family’s story isn’t perfect, but it’s real. And that’s what makes it so beautiful.
A “Day in the Life” with your family is a beautiful whirlwind of ordinary chaos and love. It’s Lego towers toppling, the family dog eating from your dinner plate, and tears over who gets the next push on the swing. It’s cheering Dad on at his rugby game, tiny hands clapping enthusiastically, and ending the day with kisses, cuddles, and bedtime snuggles. These fleeting, messy moments are what make your family unique—and they deserve to be remembered forever.
If you’re looking to preserve your family’s everyday moments, I’d love to tell your story. These days may feel ordinary now, but they’re the ones you’ll want to remember most.
