Your Family 'Day in the Life' Session

What to Expect & How to Prepare

Thank you for booking a Family Day in the Life session! I can’t wait to document your family’s story in the most natural, authentic way possible. This guide will help you understand what to expect and how to prepare for a relaxed, stress-free experience.

My Approach

I believe the most meaningful photos come from real moments—no posing, no performing, no acting. Your family’s everyday interactions, routines, and connections are what make your story unique, and that’s exactly what I aim to capture.

This session isn’t about perfect outfits or staged smiles. It’s about the little things—morning cuddles, messy breakfasts, playtime chaos, quiet moments of connection, and everything in between.

What to expect on the day

• I’ll arrive and spend a little time getting to know everyone, allowing the kids (and adults!) to feel comfortable.

• I’ll quietly observe and document your family’s day as it unfolds—no forced smiles, no awkward posing.

• The session will be relaxed, with plenty of time to simply be yourselves.

• You’ll go about your day as usual—whether that’s breakfast in PJs, a walk in the park, baking together, or reading stories.

How to Prepare (Hint: No Stress Required!)

  • Be yourselves – There’s no need to tidy up or make your home look picture-perfect. Your lived-in space tells your family’s real story.
  • Dress comfortably – Whatever you’d normally wear at home or on a family day out is perfect. This is about real life, not a fashion shoot!
  • Plan an activity (if you like) – While I capture your natural routines, having a loose plan for something fun can add to the experience. Baking cookies, a walk in the woods, a game of soccer in the garden—anything your family enjoys!
  • Forget about the camera – There’s no need to act differently or do anything special. Just focus on each other and enjoy your time together. Usually the family forgets I'm there after a little while.

After Your Session

Within a few weeks, you’ll receive a beautiful collection of images that reflect your family as they truly are—full of love, laughter, and connection. These are the moments you’ll want to remember.

Thank you for trusting me to capture your story. If you have any questions before your session, feel free to reach out!
