The Best Small Wedding Venues in Dublin for 30 Guests & Under
So you've decided to keep it small. Just the people who actually matter, a proper meal, and a day that feels like you. Good call.
Dublin is genuinely brilliant for this. The city is full of beautiful, tucked-away spaces that come into their own with a small group. You're not rattling around in a big hotel ballroom. You're not doing a speeches situation with a microphone. You're just getting married, somewhere gorgeous, with 30-odd people who are delighted to be there.
Here are some of my favourite small wedding venues in Dublin for 30 guests & under.
Small Wedding Venues in Dublin for Intimate Celebrations:
Dublin City Hall Wedding Venue
If you want a ceremony venue that stops people in their tracks, City Hall is it. The domed rotunda is one of the most beautiful rooms in Dublin and very few couples use it, which is mad.
It's a civil ceremony venue only, so you'll need to sort your legal requirements with the HSE registrar. But for sheer drama on a small scale, it's hard to beat. Ceremony done, you're right in the heart of the city for photos, and then off to wherever you like for food.
Good for: Couples who want a stunning ceremony space without a full venue package.
The Shelbourne Constitution Suite Wedding
The Shelbourne needs no introduction, but most people don't know about the Constitution Suite - a private room that seats just 24 guests. It's intimate in a way you wouldn't expect from a hotel of that scale. I've shot here and the light and atmosphere are just lovely - it really does feel like your own private corner of the city. St Stephen's Green is right outside the door for photos, and the whole thing feels quietly special rather than over the top.
Good for: Couples who want a classic Dublin experience without a big production.
The Merrion Hotel Small Wedding Venue
One of the most beautiful hotels in the city, full stop. The Georgian salons have their own private entrance, which means your day feels completely contained and yours. The gardens are gorgeous for photos, and the attention to detail from the team is genuinely excellent. Packages start from around €159 per guest.
Good for: Couples who want understated luxury and a venue that takes care of everything.
No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place and Suesey Street Weddings
Two venues, same street - pick your vibe. No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place is a restored Georgian townhouse that's yours for the day. It can cater for around 60 guests at a push, but with a smaller group it feels properly intimate. The sister restaurant Suesey Street next door is a bit more relaxed in feel - same gorgeous setting, slightly less formal.
Both are a stone's throw from the canal. Both do excellent food.
Good for: Couples who want a city venue with character rather than a generic hotel.
Cliff Townhouse Small Wedding Venue
On St Stephen's Green, Cliff Townhouse has a stunning private dining room that seats a small group beautifully. The whole place has a quiet, elegant feel - not stuffy, just considered. You can book the venue exclusively if you want it all to yourselves, including the nine bedrooms for guests staying over.
Good for: Couples who love great food and want somewhere that feels grown-up and calm.
Airfield Estate Dundrum Wedding Venue
Technically Dublin, but it feels like a world away. Airfield Estate is a working farm with walled gardens, greenhouses, and views of the Dublin mountains - and you can genuinely forget you're in the suburbs. They do wedding packages from 30 guests, which is right at the top of the range we're talking about here, so worth a conversation with them if that's your number.
Good for: Couples who want greenery and an outdoorsy feel without leaving the city.
The Marker Hotel Rooftop Wedding Dublin
The Marker Hotel is approved for civil and humanist ceremonies, and the rooftop terrace is one of those venues that photos don't do justice. Panoramic views of Dublin's skyline, bright and open, and very different from the usual options. It holds up to 70 guests, but with a smaller group it's a genuinely special spot.
Good for: Couples who want something modern and a bit different with a wow-factor backdrop.
Wrights Anglers Rest Wedding Venue Dublin
Out along the Liffey in the Strawberry Beds - a bit of a hidden gem. It's a restaurant venue right on the river, and the team are known for working closely with each couple to make the day feel personal rather than packaged. The setting is beautiful, especially in summer. Intimate by design.
Good for: Couples who want something off the beaten track with a lovely natural setting.
Knockrose Garden Dublin Wedding Venue
A bit of a wildcard, but worth knowing about. Knockrose is a small, HSE-recognised ceremony venue in south Co. Dublin with a stunning stained-glass room and a gorgeous garden. Flowers from the on-site organic garden. Genuinely one of a kind.
Good for: Couples who want a ceremony space with soul.
A Note on Photography
Small weddings are, genuinely, a joy to photograph. With fewer people, the day moves at a different pace. There's more room to breathe, more time together, more of the small moments that make up the actual day.
