Sarah's wedding dress was made by her mum.
Sit with that for a second, because it tells you everything about the kind of day this was.
Sarah and Charlie were married at Crover House Hotel in Cavan on the 14th of May, surrounded by around 100 of their favourite people. Every part of the day felt personal — not built around tradition for tradition's sake, but planned around the people who mattered most to them.
I spent eight hours with Sarah and Charlie, quietly documenting everything as it unfolded. A dress made with love, a champagne tower with the bridal party, and one of the best photo dash ideas I've seen — it all added up to a day full of moments that never once felt staged.
A Cavan Wedding at Crover House Hotel
Crover House Hotel sits on the shores of Lough Sheelin in County Cavan, and it's one of those venues that never feels rushed. The mature trees, lakeside setting and gardens are all within a short walk of each other, so there's no need to spend ages travelling between photo locations or away from your guests.
We moved naturally between the ceremony, family photographs and couple portraits without anyone standing around waiting. Sarah and Charlie were back at their drinks reception within minutes, which meant more of the day spent with the people they'd invited, and less of it in front of a camera.
Eight hours of coverage also meant we got to see the venue in completely different light — the gardens in the afternoon, then the lake lit up in the evening.
Getting Ready
The detail that stayed with me all day was Sarah's dress. Her mum made it. Not altered, not customised — made, from scratch, for her daughter's wedding day.
It wasn't something that needed to be announced. You could feel what it meant in the room. Every time Sarah looked at the dress, or her mum caught a glimpse of it hanging ready to be worn, there was a quiet pride that didn't need words.
Hair was styled by Sinead Rice Bridal Hair, with makeup by Vanessa Lee Bridal Makeup. The bridesmaids wore dresses from Ever Pretty, and the whole morning had a calm, unhurried feel — plenty of excitement, but no sense of rushing from one thing to the next.
The Ceremony and Portraits
The ceremony and portraits made the most of everything Crover House has to offer — the lakeside setting, the gardens and a few quiet corners around the grounds, all without needing to wander far.
Sarah and Charlie never disappeared for hours of photographs. We took the time we needed, then they went straight back to their family and friends. They laughed together, chatted as we walked around the grounds, and simply enjoyed those first few moments as husband and wife.
Charlie and the groomsmen wore suits from Pat O'Byrne Menswear, and the florals by Flower Innovations added colour without stealing attention from the surroundings.
The Champagne Tower
Just before the entrance into dinner, Sarah and Charlie gathered with their bridal party for a champagne tower. Glasses topped up, plenty of laughing, that pocket of anticipation before they were announced into the reception.
Moments like this are always worth making time for. Nobody's thinking about the camera, so what you get back is honest.
The Photo Dash
One thing Sarah and Charlie planned that I loved was a photo dash straight after their entrance into the reception. Rather than leaving guest photographs until later in the evening, they made their way around every table before dinner was served, stopping for a quick photograph with each group along the way.
With around 100 guests, it might sound ambitious, but it worked. Every table got a moment with the two of them, nobody wondered if they'd missed their chance, and Sarah and Charlie could relax through the rest of the evening knowing it was already done.
If you're planning a bigger wedding, it's worth considering. It takes a few minutes and leaves you with a proper record of everyone who was there.
In Their Own Words
There's nothing I can say about the day that means more than hearing how Sarah and Charlie felt when they received their photographs.
"They're AMAZING!!! Thank you so much, you really captured our special day. We are so happy to have had you as a part of our day and for going above and beyond!"
— Sarah & Charlie
Charlie also left this incredibly kind Google review after receiving their gallery:
"Pamela was an absolute dream to work with on our wedding day. From the very first moment she arrived, she brought such a calm, joyful energy that instantly put both myself and Sarah at ease. She truly has a gift for capturing not just the beautiful moments, but the genuine emotions and love that made our day so special."
"Thank you, Pamela, for making our day so incredibly special. You're truly one of a kind. 1000% recommend! 💒💍"

A Note From Pamela
What I'll remember most about Sarah and Charlie's wedding isn't the handmade dress, the champagne tower or the photo dash on their own — it's how present they were through all of it.
They gave themselves permission to enjoy the day rather than perform it. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt staged. That's why the photographs feel honest.
